Thoughts on Things

The studio builds and runs its own software products. Three of them are below: Vantage, Beacon, and Freelane CI.

Work 3 products

01 / Vantage

A Minecraft world save, rendered as a 3D map in the browser

Vantage turns a Minecraft Java Edition world save into a 3D map that runs in the browser. It reads the world files directly — no mods, plugins, or server — and ships as a CLI, a desktop app, and an npm package that can also serve a live map. Free and MIT-licensed.

02 / Beacon

A Minecraft server on your own hardware, from one command

Beacon installs a Minecraft server on an Ubuntu machine you own with a single command: the server, an HTTPS web dashboard, scheduled backups, mod management from Modrinth and CurseForge, and a live map powered by Vantage. A launcher for macOS, Windows, and Linux keeps friends in sync. Servers are private by default; public ones are listed in the Atlas directory.

03 / Freelane CI

GitHub Actions jobs routed across runner providers

Freelane CI routes GitHub Actions jobs across runner providers from one config: free credits first, paid providers after, and fallback on outage. npx freelane-ci migrates existing workflows, and a GitHub Action adds a router job that feeds runs-on. Providers include GitHub, Blacksmith, Ubicloud, WarpBuild, and Namespace. MIT-licensed.
